To me it sounds like the maximum frequency deviation is defined as the absolute value (+ or -) of the difference between the frequency of the sound pressure level from the sound calibrator and the nominal frequency *plus* the expanded measurement uncertainty.

If you think about it, there are indeed two factors in measuring uncertainty: the one being the uncertainty of the calibration accuracy of the instrument being used, and the second the presumably physical uncertainty of the action of measurement itself.

Asker: ja klar, dass erhöht=plus. Aber die Frage ist, wo the 'plus' hingehört: ist es 'difference plus uncertainty', 'frequency (one or another or both) plus uncertainty'?
