Peer comments on this answer (and responses from the answerer)
agree  Eugene Seegers: Although Reinhold's translation is technically correct, this seems to be the more common term. See the Wikipedia article "decree nisi" and http://www.compactlaw.co.uk/free-legal-information/relations...

disagree  Samuel Murray: This probably comes from a South African legal document. Then, the correct thing to do (in this type of translation) is not to seek a similar concept in the target country and "translate" it so, but to translate literally/directly what is written.

agree  Astrid Hambrock: I am a lawyer in SA - Reinholds translation is correct!

final order of divorce

Explanation:
This is the term given in the Trilingual Legal Dictionary of Hiemstra & Gonin, which is pretty much the standard authority in South Africa.

Peer comments on this answer (and responses from the answerer)
neutral  Samuel Murray: I agree that the legal dictionary referred to by Kas is pretty much the standard reference work, but I haven't checked the term in it myself.

agree  tshwanedje: Yes, the Trilingual dictionary is the legal "Bible" in SA. So if it stands like that in the dictionary, it is correct.
