Not English

Explanation:
Could this be Dutch? In any case, one does not translate addresses.

Asker: Yes, thanks. As per the link provided by corbettb, the word means a "parcel of land".

Peer comments on this answer (and responses from the answerer)
neutral  L.J.Wessel van Leeuwen: in daily parlance plot. in a title document "stand". You should only offer one word.
6 hrs

neutral  Samuel Murray: In the context of the question, neither "Lot" nor "Plot" would be the correct translation, in my opinion. (edited: changed to neutral)

Erf

Explanation:
This is the very first option given by the authoritative Van Schaik AF>EN dictionary, so it is the same in English and Afrikaans!

agree  tshwanedje: Very interesting, the Oxford South African Concise Dictionary also gives 'erf' as 'Afrikaans for plot of land'. So the translation for 'erf' in Afrikaans could also be 'erf' in English.
3 hrs
  -> Thanks!

neutral  Samuel Murray: Although one does occasionally see "Erf" used for similar cases (i.e. in addresses), I believe it is incorrect. In ZA English, "erf" is used in descriptions of erfs (plots/stands) but not in addresses that refer to a specific erf.
4 hrs
  -> Precisely! But I do not think that the context presented here idicates an address, because then the sequen would have been: Erf 1410, Nico Van Der Merwe Street, Sandbaai. Also the subsequent "land Area: 678sq.m" indicates a a description of the erf.

agree  Kas Smit: "Stand" is the usual translation. However, in legal documents "erf" is also used in English.
