To respond to your comment, in Arabic, the term for excavation is تنقيب and the origin is the verb نقّب so the ones who undertake this activity are called منقِّب for single and منقِّبون for plural. This word is almost only used in the context of searching for ancient artefacts: التنقيب عن الآثار |
