9 mm Sterling submachine gun stand


Explanation:
This is the military definition of that machine gun accessory. A sling is used for rifles and not not for submachine guns. We have a rifle sling, carrying sling and "Sling arms". Sling comes close to carry or lift up for a short while.

disagree  Hassan Al-Haifi (wordforword): The submachine gun would not require a tripod or stand as a big machine gun. Just see the pictures in link provided by Sami in Peer Comment for Ziad's answer. You will see the word sling and there are no stands in any of the sm's pictured.

disagree  AbdulHameed Al Hadidi: Sunmachine guns are standard-supplied with carrying straps to carry then on the shouldler. They do not need an extra suspender.

  -> I do not think you read my definition correctly. A suspender is a carrying strap, like the suspenders of pants for example. Can you read my Arabic remark?

Greetings.

Hamaalat = حمالة = sling of a weapon (in this instance, the 9MM Sterling SMG).

Basis: Several Iraqi Army field manuals for the AK-47 series of assault rifles and other individual weapons give (and illustrate in their diagrams) that definition.

FWIW / FYI, Saddam Hussein bought a large number of Sterling SMGs, some of which were later chromed for presentation as gifts to VIP guests.

disagree  AbdulHameed Al Hadidi: All submachine guns are standard supplied with slings and meaning here suggests another stand available in all armies to hold machine-gune in stable positions when on car-patrols or permanent fire posts. Thanks
