Arabic to English translations [PRO] Art/Literary - Poetry & Literature
Arabic term or phrase:youca
The Moroccan and the American are sitting home, (it’s morocco). A bird outside cries. The Moroccan looks surprised and says, “I don’t know how you call that bird in English. We call it youca.”
the latin scientific name will do it too... and can you pls add how this is written in arabic script?
i'm translating the book to turkish, there are several words and dialogues in other languages - including arabic - and, in line with the practice hereabouts, i'm trying to insert the non-english expressions as turkish footnotes - to make it more understandable to the turkish reader...

Explanation: I have no idea what kind of bird this is, but I don't see why you need to translate it...unless I'm misunderstanding, you're supposed to be translating the Moroccan saying that he doesn't know the bird's name in English, but that in Moroccan dialect it's called the "youca".
