Arabic term or phrase: Arabic word for Frangipani (given by Nancy Eweiss)
I need to know the arabic word for the flowering plant, frangipani. It was given in answer to a request for the arabic names of several plants (see discussion above). However, as I do not read Arabic, I need to see the word in transliterated Arabic, in English letters.
I was told that the Arabic word for frangipani is "fitna". I am aware that this is a very significant word for Muslims, and I do not mean any disrespect. Is this word also used as a plant name, perhaps for frangipani, also called oleander, in English?
Thank you.

Fitna is also used in some countries and it is not offensive word.

The word fitna may be not offensive, and even positive, in some situations in Arabic... Ex. This is beautiful garden is a fitna for viewers ... ;-)

Reference information:
fitna means tribulation. It might have a bad connotation but it is not a taboo.

I cannot confirm if the given En. word means 'fitna' or not. However, the given link define Frangipani as dafla (دفلة).

Googling both words for images will bring out similar results.
