alginic acid Explanation: This answer is from the Codex Alimentarius of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, which is the main source for all food manufacturing standards: ftp://ftp.fao.org/codex/standard/volume12/en/cx_a08ce.pdf Note: ProZ.com seems to be going through another server crash. I was able to post this answer using the German ProZ site (http://de.proz.com).
