Agh+Dar Explanation: Dear Nick, "Agdar" didn't ring any bells to me, so this is just a guess. Some Armenian words/names have Turkish origins, so this might be the case, too: "agh" in Turkish means "white", while "der" might be a mutation of original "dar" which means "mountain". So, this way, we arrive to White Mountain. You might as well do some digging for some White Mountain (Agh Dar) in former Western Armenia, now the north-eastern part of Turkey. Good luck. |
