Bengali term or phrase: Dhanya
There seem to be many translations for the spiritual given name: Dhanya. It is related to thank you, as in Dhanyavaad, and to grain, Dhan. I would like to hear about more meanings for this name.

Blessed
Explanation:
Dhanya (m.), or its feminine form Dhanyaa, is an adjective that has the following meanings:
1. Bestowing or conferring wealth
2. wealthy, rich or opulent

It is also used as a words for praise or applause.

It is used as a prefix to form the following words:

Q. Do you know of any relation between Dhanya/a to goodness or virtue? Or is there another close sounding word which has that significance?
A. Uh, as far as I know, Dhanya does not have any connection with goodness or virtue. The closest homonyms that I can think of are Punya and Dharma (virtue, goodness, etc).
Q. If a woman is given the spiritual name Dhanya, how would it be spelled?
A. Not sure whether "Dhanya" is spiritual per se. It is just a normal word with no specific religious or spiritual connotation. If a girl has the name "Dhanya", it would still be spelt "Dhanya", but pronounced "Dhanyaa". Most Indians would instinctively know it's a girl and pronounce it as "Dhanyaa".
