The facades of the churches were segmented by deep niches (ofter with two steps) decorated with flying buttresses and archvaults.
Значи не става дума за формата на самите извивки на арката, както първоначално се заблудих. Става въпрос за вдлъбнати навътре на две степени ниши, украсени с арка. Може и two-stepped arch в много краен случай.
Вариантът walled in arches се среща в преводите на църквата "Христос Пантократор" в Несебър. Ето още един линк - http://books.google.bg/books?id=whK2u1IeHbEC&pg=PA78&lpg=PA7...
Но определено double chamfered е по-разпространено понятие и не звучи така "побългарено".

Значи не става дума за формата на самите извивки на арката, както първоначално се заблудих. Става въпрос за вдлъбнати навътре на две степени ниши, украсени с арка. Може и two-stepped arch в много краен случай.
