Огледало - това е въздушното пространство между две рамена на стълбата. Минималното разстояние за огледалото е 5см., а максималното 40см. - отнася са за двураменни стълби с рамена на 180 градуса и двойно трираменни.
В зависимост от вида на площадката "огледалото" бива "round" и "square".

Stairwell e стълбищната клетка, както вече се изясни в един от другите въпроси и не смятам, че е подходящо в случая, защото stairwell opening може да бъде отвор на върха на самата стълбищна клетка или вход към таванско помещение, а не пространството между рамената на стълбището.
