Thorax CT / Chest Cavity CT / Chest Cavity (Thorax) CT
Explanation:
Alternatively, CT (Computed Tomography) of Thorax/Chest Cavity, etc.

http://www.dzu.at/en/computedtomography/chest_cavity__thorax...

Appointment: Recommended
Important Information,
Preparation: Computed Tomography (CT) Instruction Leaflet
CT Patient Information and Consent Form
Contrast Material: Usually required

Exception: No contrast material is required for a high-resolution examination of the chest
Main Applications:

Inflammatory / tumor-related changes in the lung
Diseases of the chest wall
Space-occupying lesions in the mediastinum
Vascular changes
Changes in lymph nodes, etc.

The Examination:

Patients are requested to uncover the body area to be examined and remove metal objects such as jewelry or piercings.

During the examination patients lie face-up on the sliding CT table, which moves slowly through the wide, circular opening of the CT scanner. The area to be examined is always in the middle of this opening. Since respiratory movements can disturb lung CT imaging, the technologist in charge tells you how and when to breathe.

If intravenous contrast material needs to be injected for your CT procedure examination, we insert a small soft plastic tube (Venflon) - which serves to access the vein - before the procedure. The contrast material itself is injected painlessly through an injector. This eliminates the risk of movement having a negative effect on the procedure. Iodized contrast material cannot be used for specific diseases. If you suffer from thyroid disease, impaired kidney function or diabetes, please inform us at the time of your registration

Bronchiectasis, also known as bronchiectasia, is a lung condition that causes persistent cough and excess phlegm (sputum); it is defined by localized, irreversible dilation (widening) of part of the bronchial tree - the airways widen, become flabby and scarred. Bronchiectasis, along with emphysema, bronchitis and cystic fibrosis is classified as an obstructive lung disease.
