Catalan term or phrase:pràctica transversal
I know "transversal" is a word, but I would never use it except in a very technical text - does anyone have any bright ideas for this case, please:
"El disseny com a pràctica transversal i el disseny com a disciplina especialitzada és el plantejament que orienta i situa, en diferents nivells, els estudis...."

Explanation: Depending on the context, I think transversal can be translated as 'cross-cutting' or 'cross-sectional' or 'cross-curricular'. Here I think 'cross-cutting' might be possible.
