Catalan to English translations [PRO]
Science - Education / Pedagogy
Catalan term or phrase: én tant que

"Tradicionalment les dones han estat absents de les ciències én tant que objecte de coneixement. Podem veure alguns indicadors:"

English translation:as
Explanation:

In other contexts it could be "inasmuch as".

The whole " én tant que objecte de coneixement" strikes me as redundant and needlessly wordy.

"as an area of study" certainly sounds better than "as an object of knowledge"!

Notes to answerer
Asker: Yes, poorly written. I think I have hammered it out, thanks. "as an area of study" is what I came up with.
