Catalan to English translations [PRO]
Law/Patents - Law (general)
Catalan term or phrase: d'ofici
This is from a document detailing how to apply for financial aid for disability. My question is: are they referring to legal action here, with d'ofici, or some kind of official evaluation?

"Si la persona no té la condició de persona amb discapacitat en el moment de presentar la sol•licitud, es trametrà d'ofici la sol•licitud de valoració."

Here is my draft translation:
"If the person does not have a disability at the time of submission of the application, the application will be forwarded for evaluation." Should I add "legal" - "legal evaluation"?

English translation:formal (application)
Explanation:
I think you need to rejig the first part of the sentence slightly - something along the lines of: "If the person is not officially classified as disabled when the application is submitted, a formal application for assessment will be made" HTH

Explanation:
I think that since the application cannot be processed for a specific disability, it will be processed or evaluated in a general manner.
I found a translation for "de oficio" meaning blanket, as in general, overall, all-inclusive...

administratively

Explanation:
the public administration will process the application following a set of rules anyway and regardless of disability classification
