Hola Silvia,
Com bé diuen els companys, a Andorra "batlle" també vol dir "jutge". A la pàgina que t'adjunto (www.inaf.ad/component/option,com_remository/Itemid,27/func,... trobaràs un desenvolupament més extens. (Per exemple, les peticions d'extradició rebudes per Exteriors, s'envien al Tribunal de Batlles). No obstant, al traduir al castellà s'ha de fer la següent precisió: l'ünic jutge que pot estar de guàrdia a Espanya és el d'Instrucció a poblacions de més de 500.000 habitants (Magistrat Jutge) o el de primera instància i instrucció en els de menys habitants (Jutge), i ara també el de violència de gènere.

battle in Catalan is the mayor (or burguemaster in other countries), BUT if it is in ANDORRA, it is the JUDGE OF A COURT (LEVEL OF "FIRST INSTANCE"), or District Court (US), or High Court of Justice in GB.
I met this in a translation some years ago, and checked it with the Andorran authorities.
