I think Phil's understanding is basically correct. Usually, the Cantonese idiom 劏(人)死牛 means "to rob (somebody) at gunpoint or with the threat of violence" and in one word, that means to "mug" (somebody). "唔好劏人死牛就會經常光顧" means "I will possibly become a regular customer if you don't (try to) rip me off". 唔好 means "don't" in this context. 唔好 either means "don't", followed by a verb (劏...in this instance) OR "not" if by an adjective (e.g. 唔遠 = not far (away). 唔好= not good. 唔多 = not many/much). In this context it simply means "don't". |
