Chinese to English translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Business/Commerce (general) / Sales
Chinese term or phrase: 发货
I'm confused about this term because I saw in one source that it could mean, "delivery" but there are also the phrases, 交货 and 供货 which I also take to mean delivery. What is the difference between all of these phrases? I know that 发货 can also mean "consignment" but can it also mean "delivery" in just a general sense?

The context is 发货速度慢。

Thanks in advance!

English translation:delivery, shipping, despatch, send out (goods)
Explanation:
发货 is delivery/shipping in general. In this context, I think it can also mean it takes quite long to despatch the goods instead of the actual shipping time itself.

Asker: Thank you! "Despatch" is also "dispatch" in American English.

supply

Explanation:
As far as my understanding, I prefer to translate 发货into " supply of sth" ; in the context " 发货速度慢”, it means " their supply chain doesn't work so efficient. It is only a general concept of deliverying some order to customers.

Asker: Thanks! I think it can definitely have the meaning of a "supply chain" in some contexts.
