此话的意思是，当使用此法时若能检测出游离铁的话，此项指标就不合格。换言之，在此产品中，铁只能以铁离子的形式存在。(但是不排除当使用其它更精密的方法时允许检出游离铁。)

叶绿素铁钠盐在医药工业中用于制造治疗缺铁性贫血的药品，在食品工业中可作为添加剂。所谓游离铁就是以分子形式存在的铁，反而对人体有害，故必须控制其含量。
