Chinese term or phrase: 照相館 (1/2)
Sentence:這個照相館的照相機很新,照的相也很好,價錢也不太貴,真好!

1st Attempt: The cameras at this photo shop are very new, and the photographs are very good. The prices are also reasonable . It's really great.

Question 1/2: Though I have seen many film development shops that perform studio-like services (eg. passport photos), I have never seen a photography studio that sells cameras.

i) What is going on here, do you think?
ii) Also, I thought 間 was the counter for stores, buildings, rooms, and the like. Is this good written Chinese?

Question 2/2: What does the phrase 照的相 mean? Does it mean "pictures that have been taken" -- namely, the shops photographs.

As always you are welcome to comment on other parts of the sentence, as well.

photo shop
Explanation:
To your Q 1/2:

i) Just visit any Taiwanese photo shops and you will find out that they don't just develop films but also sell cameras.

ii) Well, 一家 or 一间 or even 一个照相馆 is all right for Taiwanese or Chinese. It is an acceptable writing style. Chinese tend to use 一间照相馆 while Taiwanese the other one. 一个照相馆 is all right, but somehow funny.

Acknowledgement: Well, Wenjer, you surely left me concerned about the meaning of 照影館, and it looks like I am in for a surprize should I ever visit Taiwan.

My best wishes from the land of no mountains surrounded by sea on many sides.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Wenjer, thank you for responding, but it appears that you did not understand the question. A photography studio (a place to have your picture taken), a camera shop (a place to purchase photography equipment), and a photo shop (a place for having your film developed) are three different entities with sometimes overlapping activity. Whenever I see the word 照相館 and look inside, what I usually is a photography studio. Please try again.
