Chinese to English translations [PRO] Education / Pedagogy | | Chinese term or phrase: 文 | In an academic transcript, this appears next to one of the listed course names in brackets:
学业成绩单
课程名称
经济学
数学(文)
投资学
I can't figure out what the 文 here refers to, any ideas?
Thanks |

| | English translation:Mathematics (For the Department of Humanities) | Explanation: As Donglai said, this course is specially arranged for students in the department of humanities.
(文) here means 文科, in China it not only covers department of liberal arts, but also school of law and school of politics and international relationships. When I was a law school student, I took 数学(文) as my core module.
So I think "department of humanities" is more suitable here. |
