The chinese character is 夕 but on top there is a 一 - a straight line across.

Chinese term or phrase: The chinese character is 夕 but on top there is a 一 - a straight line across.
I can't find this character in the dictionary (xi with a straight line across the top).

For information, the sentence says: 有的父亲在劳动时，被山上滚下的石头夺去了生命， 爷爷和母亲又丧生在徒的刀下；。。。

Any help you can offer is much appreciated. I've seen the character before, i just can't call it to mind.
