A teacher tells to her students when the class is over. 老师说：同学们再见！

Why it is not like below:
老师说：学生们好！
老师说：学生们再见！

What is the translation for the above 4 chinese sentences?

Is it like:
Hello, Students! / Hello, Class.
Bye, Students! / Bye, Class.

Hello, Class! Good-bye, class.

Explanation:
Teachers always address the student as 同学 in the class. 学生is used in other occasions, say talking about the student out of the class. So we don't say :学生们好or 学生们再见。
To be more formal, you can also say "Good morning/ Good afternoon/Good evening" depending on when you have the class.
