如大家多知，“为尊者讳、为贤者讳、为亲者讳”语出孔子的《春秋》，是不把尊者，贤者，亲者”的丑事，缺点，恶事张扬出去，即为尊者，贤者，亲者避讳某些事。
后有人延伸为“为尊者讳耻,为贤者讳过,为亲者讳疾”，吾认为可列为：
为尊者隐讳（避而不谈也）其不光彩的事：For the respectable (respected) and honorable (honored), we shall not speak of the unmentionables (or unfavorable events that happened in regards to him/her).
为贤能的人隐讳其曾经的过失 For the skilled and virtuous, we shall not speak of their past mistakes.
为亲近的人隐讳其缺点 For those close to us, we shall not dwell on their shortcomings.
为尊者讳、为贤者讳、为亲者讳，简言之就是“为尊贵的人，贤能的人和亲近的人 隐讳 他们的不足”: For those who we respect, who are virtuous and wise, and for those close to us, we shall not speak of their shortcomings or mistakes. 无非就是要让“尊者”“贤者”“亲者”的好形象不被破坏

Good question Lucy, thanks! 我只是单方面的讲了“为尊者讳、为贤者讳、为亲者讳”的原意，至于在Tony提供的这个context里，我刚开始只是认为，面对所谓的“正面人物”时，就会因为有“为尊者讳、为贤者讳、为亲者讳”的障碍，于是乎，就会有有话不敢说，不能说，或者不能说太多，要挑时机，挑场合，要注意对方的身份或地位等等问题。这本来就是讲究中庸之道的弊端，不是当今社会所崇尚的吧
不过确实不同的读者会做不同的理解。
