seam is the joint where the 2 ends of a metal sheet is welded. you can see there is s seam along a drum.

Kick Drum seam as seen from outside of shell. Still unsanded. Weld-on seems to be sandable enough. I will get it to where the white is ONLY in the seam. I might take a suggestion from Alex M., and color the seam.
