Yin Yang and the 8 trigrams support me as a diciple; Yin Yang and the 8 trigrams support my body.
Qian follows the order of Yuan (primality), Heng (prosperity), Li (benevolence), and zhen (chaste).
Dui for pond with heroic soliders;
Li for fire with running on flaming wheels;
Zhen for bolt with rolling thunders;
..........................
Xun for wind with facilitated manuvering;
Kan for water with rapid waves;
Gen for mountain with paths blocked;
Kuen has the virtue of unbound correspondance.
I guess this might be approximate in meaning.
As far as I know, this mantra/incantation is chanted with a specific way of walking. Basically, it's an incantation beseaching divine protection in the forms of the favorable operation of yin yang and the 8 trigrams. The implied dramatic theme in these symbos is somewhat making the divine intervention look like an army with rapid speed and roars of sounds, coming swiftly and skillfully in waves so as to block the adverse force so that the virtue of Kuen can be restored. It's somewhat like the archetypal mytheme in Jungian or Campbell's sense. |
