Izrada završnog rada - molila bih vas za prijevod. To je jedna od kategorija s ocijenom u srednjoškolskoj svedodžbi o završnome radu. Koju riječ da upotrijebim za IZRADA u ovom kontekstu? Hvala.

English translation:[submission of a] final project

Explanation:
In fact, you can omit the word 'izrada' because it is obvious from the context, but if you really want to use it, then say 'submission'.

Since it is about high school, I would call it a final project rather than thesis or dissertation (which are reserved for university undergraduate+(post)graduate levels).

Završi rad, pa i njegova izrada (ili “izradBa” na hr?) je složena aktivnost, nije samo obično pisanje (pismeni ispit) na neku temu onako “iz glave”, pa bi i en. termin morao da to obuhvati:

(Pravilnik o izradbi i obrani završnoga rada)
(6) Izradba se sastoji od uratka koji može biti: projekt, praktični rad s elaboratom, složeniji ispitni zadatak ili drugi slični uradak usklađen s nastavnim programom.
(7) Izradbom učenika umjetničkoga programa može se smatrati i priprema za javni nastup pod stručnim vodstvom mentora.
(8) Izradbom se može smatrati uradak kojim je učenik sudjelovao na izložbi inovatorskih radova u zemlji ili inozemstvu tijekom svoga srednjeg obrazovanja i uradak kojim je učenik osvojio prvo, drugo ili treće mjesto na državnome natjecanju iz strukovnih, odnosno umjetničkih predmeta, područja ili programa.

bonafide1313: mislim da nakon ovih točki ministarstva koje ste citirali, paper postaje pomalo upitan, iako su oni sami sve nabrojano sveli pod "final paper creation" ili kako već... jadni učenici i prevoditelji, a najjadnije ministarstvo:))

Mira Stepanovic: :) čini mi se da bi "creation and defence" tj. "izrada" moglo potpuno da se izostavi... U principu se ocenjuje završni rad a u kontekstu nije spomenuta odbrana istog. A da bismo ostali na strani sigurnosti... :)

-> Hv. Miro, stavljeno samo kao opća ref. s nazovimo ga "mjerodavnog mjesta"; kako se ocjenjuje izrada rada? ostaje mi nejasno, valjda se ocjenjuje sam rad? al eto, mi ga nekad jednostavno pisali, a danas valjda copy paste pa je to već valjda izrada :))...

Natasa Stankovic: Mada nisam En. native speaker, čini mi se da "creation" ne bi baš išlo za izradu završnog rada.

-> mislim da je problem u tome što završni rad izgleda ne mora nužno biti "paper", pa se u ministarstvu izvukli po meni (me smijem napisati kako bih je nazvala:) sintagmom "izradba završnog rada" i kreacijom, pa onda još govore i o uradku...

we had something similar in our school (an International Baccalaureate school), and it was not called a "final paper", as papers are the written end of year exams (same goes if you are doing English A levels - papers are the written exams you sit for your chosen subjects) - final year projects are those "radovi" where you choose your subject and topic and do extensive research on your own. In the IB curriculum they are officially called "Extended essay" (but the name differs for different school systems).
I uderstand the Ministry might have had it translated in a specific manner, but that does not mean it is 100% correct, who knows when/how/who translated it. I went to school in the UK and know a few bits about the IB and UK curriculum. (and frankly some Croatian translators translated my certificates/diplomas into Croatian in a Mickey Mouse manner)

you could agrue that it's a "research paper", but IMHO you need to specify the "research", because as I said, "paper" is often associated to the written exam
