Croatian term or phrase: smjer
As in: Elektrotehnika; smjerovi:
Elektroenergetika, Automatika, Informatika

Predloženi (nezadovoljavajući i neargumentirani) prijevodi: module, line of study, specialization, field of study.
U slučaju viših obrazovnih ustanova, prijevod bi zaista mogao biti 'field of study', no u visokom obrazovanju se smjerom smatra i npr. profesorski i znanstveni, a to nije 'field of study'. Smjer se prije nazivao studijem (npr.nastavnički studij).

meni se čini da je ovdje riječ o naučnom smjeru/ programu ( course), a ne o admin. odjeljenju unutar fakulteta ( department), koji mi popularno zovemo "smjer"
