Kontekst: nakon razvoda jedan roditelj dobiva SKRBNIŠTVO nad svojim djetetom. Pronašla sam neke izraze, ali nisam sigurna odgovaraju li konekstu (guardianship, custody,...). Preferiram BrEng varijantu.

Radi se o literarnom djelu.

Imate pravo, no razlika nije u roditeljskom ili neroditeljskom skrbništvu, već, koliko sam shvatila u tome da guardianship pretpostavlja samo zakonskog predstavnika (guardian) a custody pretpostavlja brigu i suživot s djecom: http://www.lawandparents.co.uk/applying-for-custody.html
Nakon ovog istraživanja, svakako ispravljam odgovor u (child) custody :)

agree  lirka: legal guardian is the correct term when the parents themselves act as guardians. If someone else acts as a guardian, then it's called "guardian of a minor"
