DAS OPERATIVE LEASING unterscheidet sich in wesentlichen Punkten von einem echten LEASINGVERTRAG und ähnelt in seinen Grundlagen eher einem herkömmlichen Mietverhältnis. Aus diesem Grund wird diese Form nicht selten als unechtes Leasing bezeichnet und taucht unter diesem Begriff häufig auch in unterschiedlichen Quellen auf. Wo aber liegen die großen Unterschiede zu den anderen bekannten Arten des Leasings? Im Rahmen eines operativen Leasings erwirbt der Leasingnehmer in der Regel die Nutzungsrechte nur über einen sehr kurzen Zeitrahmen, was eigentlich im Widerspruch zur eigentlichen Definition des Leasingbegriffs steht, der ja bekanntlich von einem mittel- bis langfristigen Vertrag ausgeht.
