Czech to English translations [PRO] Architecture
Czech term or phrase:loterního rohu
Zajímavé je zpevnění loterního rohu domu, které posílilo jeho konstrukci a současně zabraňovalo, aby se kola vozů dostala až ke stěně domu.
a vzhledem k sdelovacim prostredkum nam to nebude vubec nic platne ..........lidr znamena vudce, pokud jste sledovala volby tak lidr je jedno nadherne nove "moderni" slovo.
Ak je zaklad slova "lot", celkom suhlasim, tak by nas nic nemalo prekvapit s takymto novotvatom nakolko takychto a podobnych vyrazov sa zacina udomacnovat v nasich jazykoch cim dalej tym viac. Vdaka mediam ako aj niektorym "sikovnym" prekladatelom, ktori do medii prispievaju. Vdaka foru sa snazime o vyriesenie a rozlustenie problemu.
Just close it. I think the main thing is to be of help. Something this bad doesn't need to be in the glossary, does it? Ha ha ha ...you can either simply leave it .....as others sometimes do.....or write "answer found elsewhere" as reason etc etc.
Aaahh that probably makes the most sense for it to be the corner of the LOT. How silly. And yes, I must agree that it is 'dost blbá čeština,' and unfortunately not just in this case but in many, in this document. Now how would I vote a discussion post as the best answer?
teď když se obnovila diskuze, něco dalšího mne napadlo -nevím jestli je váš text historický nebo moderní, pokud je to současné tak význam’ lot’ co by ‘pozemek’ - tím se to všude hemží. Akorát nevím jestli váš text mluví o pozemku, parcele, půdě, atd. Každopádně je to opravdu dost blbá čeština.....tedy ten text
Thanks for the imput. I agree that it needs more info and would also appreciate it. The text does not mention anything about a lottery and the only significant text is the one I posted. The rest of the text is about the various reconstructions of the house but not its use.
On the other hand, the context gives not the lottery house but the lottery corner, probably meaning to say (if it is true) that there was a lottery office in the corner - quite frankly, I dismissed it - but I think, again, it may very well be "it."
Maria, it may very well be a lottery house, it is the true that it is the first thing that comes to mind; I just didn't think it possible, even though it would be, of course, the most natural answer (outside of style of architecture, of course, where this appears to be "out")

Reifnforcement of the .......................corner of the house.......if this indeed means a lottery house, as my colleague suggests, then I dare to say that it would be an incredibly bad use of czech language. However, I am indeed interested if the context mentioned anywher anything about there being a gambling establishment....
