Czech to English translations [PRO] Marketing - Business/Commerce (general) / Administrative?
Czech term or phrase:asistent manažerů
A friend of mine worked as...well, he calls it "asistent manažerů"...in Northern Ireland some time ago. His job was to plan the volume of work, purchase material, secure transportation of material to the storehouse and organize subsequent distribution thereof. Other things he had to do: quality checks, drawing up invoices, calculations and statistical surveys, processing data from tests of heat dissipation in buildings, participation in marketing researches and subsequent evaluation thereof, organizing and securing meetings, participation in conferences (such as the international conference State of the City or Staff day, etc.), cooperation with Community centres, finding out their needs and proposing necessary measures, and so on.
He was told by a native speaker of English he had been an "administrator". I am not sure this is the correct translation. My friend hates it anyway. Is there any other term we could use? Thanks a lot for any advice! Petusek
Explanation: As Stuart says, there could be any number of possibilities.
I am also reminded of Gareth in the comedy series 'The Office', who describes himself as 'Assistant Regional Manager', when in fact he was 'Assistant TO the Regional Manager', a fact that he is constantly reminded of :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gareth_Keenan
Given the context, EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT seems to be the right choice. Thanks a lot for all the ivaluable comments! 4 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer
Gerry, velmi spravna pripomienka o kvalifikacii. Otazka bola len preto aby sme vedeli posudit a navrhnut nejaky vhodny termin. 'Administrator' je O.K., tu v USA could be assistant manager.
