Asker: yes, the meaning is "on" (either wall or ceiling), not "in". I don't thing embedded/recessed, etc. is correct. this links shows "zapustena svitidla": http://www.mijavashop.cz/10-pisazene-svitidla-stropni-

Asker: Nakonec se ukázalo (na základě podnětu kolegyně) a náslledném ověřování na googlu, že se používá "flush mount lighting fixtures" a podle obrázku je to ono.
