Czech term or phrase: falzum
I'm assuming this is the root word - (standard neuter declination in 6th case). The dictionary tells me something that doesn't jibe with the context.

Petra a Pavla. Každopádně existence obce Kladruby je jednoznačně prokázána v zakládací listině kláštera, která se ovšem nezachovala v originále, nýbrž pouze v opisu z roku 1197.
http://cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kladruby_(okres_Tachov)

Many websites call it "opis zakládací listiny" (duplicate, transcript), not necessarily "falzum" (counterfeit).

http://kladruby.euweb.cz/pages/historie/cechura.htm - this is arguably the most authoritative resource on Kladrubský klášter. Here's what they have to say about the issue:
"Zatímco první benediktinské kláštery bývaly chudé, dostal kladrubský klášter, jehož zakladatelem byl český panovník Vladislav I., již při založení nezvykle rozsáhlý majetek i značný počet poddaných. V minulém čísle Zpravodaje jsme se seznámili s třemi formami zakládací listiny, které jsou ovšem jen jejími opisy či falzifikáty, sepsanými zřejmě samotnými mnichy v klášteře."
In other words, pure speculation - you might as well flip a coin.

Notes to answerer
Asker: I think you raise a good point. Is "falzum" a lazily used word that just covers both legal transcripts and forgeries? Or can a local expert, like a curator, know the specific circumstances? This is a pretty neat pitfall for the translator...did the dictionary writers catch the nuances?

neutral  Stuart Hoskins: could be, but: Mì by zajímalo, zda lze vùbec vyvodit pouze z opisu znìní nezvìstné listiny, jednalo-li se o falsum nebo šlo o pravou listinu? (http://www.e-stredovek.cz/forum/viewtopic.php?t=193)

-> Ano, přesně tak. Takže bych se raději vyhýbala termínům jako "counterfeit" či "forgery", ačkoli podle slovníku jsou správné.

agree  Michal Zugec: Taky si myslím že se jedná o opis

-> Dotaz je na falzum, a to v kontextu. Nezdá se, že by bylo prokázáno, že ta listina byla opsána s podvodným úmyslem (mnohé stránky o ní mluví jako o opisu).

literary forgery

Explanation:
Forgery, for sure, but I'd add "literary" there as it refines the meaning plus is commonly used.

The second link is a search result of "literary forgeries" and "zelena hora".

The most known literary forgeries in the Czech history are Manuscript of Zelena Hora (Zelenohorský rukopis) and Manuscript of Dvur Kralove (Královedvorský rukopis)

I just read Jana's post. Well, if that's the case she's right.

If we're not sure whether these were intentional forgeries or not, then it's a matter of interpretation or contacting the author to make sure what exactly s/he meant. Or coin flipping :-)

Example sentence(s):
  • Literary forgery, also Literary forgeries and mystifications, pertains to some writing, especially in literature, such as a manuscript, presented as an original, when in fact it is a fake. [Wikipedia]
