Vyhradiť (or vyčleniť) can also mean "to detach or separate or put aside". So, vyhradené (plynové, požiarne, elektrické etc.) zariadenia could be construed as sub-group of devices detached from a group of gas, electrical, fire safety devices. However, I saw many terms in Slovak and English when direct meaning of words in a term was very far from meaning of the term itself.

I didn't derive that meaning from the word "vyhrazené", but from descriptions and definitions of the term in translations I have made and legal regulations I have studied (for example those quoted above). The "classified" device is subject to stricter safety regulations, can be only installed by qualified staff, must be inspected with higher frequency.
I believe you that term "classified fire safety equipment" doesn't sound well in English, but then we must find another term to express that such devices pertain to specific category nd are treated in specific way. What about "fire safety devices under specific regime"?

To je velmi zaujimave, s vybranymi zariadeniami som sa este nestretol. Ale podla linkov v predchadzajucom prispevkov mam skor pocit, že vhodnejší by bol opačný preklad, teda vybrané ako specified a vyhradené ako classified.

Yes, classified equipment is quite common when you Google it but it means something completely different - e.g. "When UK military aircraft containing classified equipment" .... i.e. top secret equipment. "Classified" can only be used in the sense of categorised if you add "as" or "under" afterwards. You cannot just put "classified fire safety equipment" to mean "fire safety equipment that has been put in a specific class/category" - the term does not work like that in English. That is why if you said "classified fire safety equipment" to an English native speaker they would not have the foggiest idea what the hell you were talking about.... Not sure how you arrive at the fact that "vyhrazené zařízení" means a device or equipment pertaining to specific category of devices" but this is a discussion forum and if you can show me how you derive that meaning from the word " "vyhrazené" then I will willingly eat my hat and apologise. But you still cannot use the term "classified fire safety equipment" in English I am afraid. Just not something that we say.

And according to Czech laws and regulations, term "vyhrazené zařízení" means a device or equipment pertaining to specific category of devices and treated in a specific way. Therefore, translation vyhrazené as classified is fully justified in this context. Your term describes all fire prevention devices, both classified and non-classified ones.
By the way, Google shows that term "classified equipment" or "classified * equipment" is quite common.

Neither of them are terms that English speakers would use I am afraid Pavel. Try Googling "specified fire safety equipment" or "classified fire safety equipment" and you will see what I mean. "Specified" would mean that it has been "referred to" and "classified" would mean that it has either been put in some sort of category or that it is top secret....

Vážení kolegovia, je potrebné rozlišovať medzi "vybraným zariadením" v mysle vyhlášky ČSKAE č. 436/90 Zb., ktoré sa prekladá ako "classified equipment" a "vyhradeným zariadením" v zmysle vyhlášky SÚBP č. 66/89 Zb. v znení vyhlášky SÚBP č. 31/ 1991 Zb., ktoré sa prekladá ako "specified equipment".
