Czech to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical (general)
Czech term or phrase: LS neurochirurgie
Accompanying a document headed VÝSLEDKOVÝ PROTOKOL, there are two pages headed PATOLOGIE - KARTA, and on each of these, one line of text is:

Oddělení: NCHL, **LS neurochirurgie** 7.B

Perhaps this 'LS' is a ward of the hospital - or is it a subdivision of a ward?

English translation:Neurosurgical inpatient unit
Explanation:
I agree with Jana (and Dylan) that LS is likely to stand for lůžková stanice in this context. I worked on a few of discharge reports in the past and in all of them this was the intended meaning.

Asker: I'm sure LS stands for lumbosakrální in other contexts, but all the information here concerns parts of the brain: parietal lobe, temporal lobe.

Explanation:
Most probably, LS stands for lůžkový stacionář - an in-patient ward for persons with chronic afflictions. However, I am not sure about the appropriate term in English.

NCHL is probably neurochirurgie lůžková (část) = in-patient ward of neurosurgery

It seems LS is lůžková stanice - a subdivision of the neurosurgery ward.

Asker: Thanks - I was thinking on similar lines about NCHL.

Asker: On the 1st page (Výsledkový protokol), the 'oddělení' is 'Stanice neurochirurgická JIP'. This gave me the idea that LS could be 'lůžková stanice'.
