Czech to English translations [PRO] Medical - Medical (general)
Czech term or phrase:OP prohlídka
OP prohlídka: kůže - bez patologických morf, dutina ústní - bez patologie, lymfatické uzliny - nehmatám, štítná žláza ....
At this time of day, I'm probably failing to guess what even the simplest things stand for...
If someone comes up with an answer, I'll be able to sleep tonight.
On first impression, there's nothing "oncological" about these documents, but looking ahead a couple of pages, I see, for example, "Pomýšleno dif. dg. tumor ovaria nebo plicní tumor".
Radek's suggestion certainly looks convincing.
Okey, it sounds logical:-) Unfortunately, there is sometimes only a little logic in language matters, which means that OP prohlídka could be interpreted as Odborní prohlídka like IT technológie (I saw the latter many times).
Thanks. I'll probably sleep on it. I was wondering if it could be something to do with an operation, but there's no sign that they were planning an operation at this stage... but then, the text is cut off a couple of lines below this, as if there's a part of the text that they don't need.
I don't know what the missing part of the document is about.
I also agree with Hnnah, operační prohlídka is the most probable version. Although, there is also a possibility of odborní prohlídka - special/specialised examination.
just curious if there is any potential surgery there, I am thinking of OP for surgery, i.e. (possibly) pre-op exam etc.

Oncological preventive examination
Explanation: This is to check possible changes due to a malignity that would be present on physical examination of the patient

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thank you. I was beginning to wonder if it could be this. Last night (and again this morning) I found many examples of "preventivní onkologická ..." and relatively few examples of "onkologická preventivní ...", but still ...
Asker: I mean one might expect PO rather than OP, given the usual order of the words - but still, your answer makes sense.
