Czech to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical (general)
Czech term or phrase: odtlumení
Při dalším večerním *odtlumení* již pacientka nebyla tolik agitovaná, hypertonus byl mírnější.

I can only find "disinhibition", and I'm not sure that's the right word.

A few lines further down, it says:
Pacientku jsme další den odtlumili a extubovali.

English translation:alleviation
Explanation:
this is what we're getting at...it is a generic term, granted, the author did not say what by means such "attenuation" was performed. One thought: symptoms of hypertonia include spasms, this needs a drug like Baclofen for spasms or rigidity....OR...could have been alleviated perhaps by inhibitory pressure, the treatment or drug remains unnamed

Thank you. I stayed with the word "alleviation", and added a note about the ambiguity.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thank you, Scott. There's a possible clue that I've just noticed: "relaxace" is mentioned at an earlier point in the text (when the patient is intubated) - the drug mentioned at that point is Arduan, not baclofen.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Sedation is specifically mentioned at earlier points in the text: "... byla pacientka ... hluboce sedována", "byla vysazena sedace", "dávky sedativ" etc. The word "odtlumení" appears only once. So it's just another word for sedation?

disinhibition

Explanation:
nothing wrong is the med. report. , because...
... they lower level of dose after sedation...and she was not so agitated...

sedation - use of sedative or tranquilizing drug to induce a state of calm, .... no need for extra explanation...

disinhibition - 1. psychology - a temporary loss of inhibition caused by an outside stimulus
2. chem. - removal of an inhibitor (drug, medication or ...)
