In light of the interesting reference provided by Rad'a, and his question about how to look into this further, I would like to paste the entire paragraph, which unfortunately is my only context.
The point of Kudoz is to get to the bottom of terms, but I'm afraid unless our dear friends the Brits had a similar fashion, this might be a "new" term to English, and one that needs extra attention before I dare to say it's accurate (history's so long, I rather think the term's been translated for centuries).
Paragraph (o Knihovne narodniho muzea):
Jsou zde shromážděny i doklady k vývoji knižní kultury, dokumentující průběh vzniku české knihy, tj. od prvotní korespondence nakladatele se spisovatelem nebo typografem, přes sazbu, úpravu a ilustrační výzdobu knihy, uměleckou knižní vazbu až k její samotné propagaci. Uchovává rovněž početnou sbírku exlibris a kramářských tisků, která je rozsahem největší svého druhu v ČR. |
