Czech term or phrase:klasicizující pomník
Dear fellow translators,
I am a translation student and a beginning translator and thus I would very much appreciate your advice. During my translation of a Czech tourism text, I have come across the following expression: 'klasicizující pomník' (wider context: Nedaleko od něj je nádherný klasicizující pomník se srdíčkem...). I am a bit puzzled about how best this expression should be rendered into English. I am a native Czech speaker however, this is the first time I have come across such an utterance. I believe it to mean a headstone with an influence of classicism however; I am not 100% sure. What is your opinion? How would you translate this?
mohli by ste nam priblizit obdobie, prip. rok kedy bol pomnik postaveny. Potom by bolo vhodne uvazovat nad pseudo-klasicizmom a nie klasicizmom 17-ho stor. vo Franc. atd.,

Explanation: Jsem si naprosto jistý, že žádná kamenná stavba nemůže nic ani nikoho klasicizovat. Oproti tomu "klasicistní" je běžné slovo, označující architekturu z období klasicismu.
Čili naprosto suše "a classicist monument..." end sou on.

Explanation: It sounds ungainly, I know, but I have been assured that this is the correct translation and it comes up a lot.

Asker: Thank you, so much, Stuart. I was actually trying to find this picture! Thank you, it is very helpful. How would you, approach the above discussed translation? I am enclined to translate it as "a classicits headstone" however, I am wondering whether there is a difference between "klasicizující and klasicistní". You will not find "klasicizující" in a Czech dictionary yet it does not cound odd to me and if you were to do a search on Czech internet pages than you will find it that it is used with abundance. I am not an architect but what I understand under the two terms is that the first refers to something that is could not be entirely classified as "classicist" but has much of the features that characterize this style. What do you think? I would very much appreciate your opinion on the matter.
