Danish to English translations [PRO] Bus/Financial - Accounting | | Danish term or phrase: kurs | I'm having trouble figuring out the standard way of formulating this:
Nominelt aktier DKK xxx.xxx.xxx a kurs xxx = xxx.xxx.xxx
I'd appreciate help with the entire formulation, as I don't think this is expressed in a directly translated manner.
The closest I could get was something along the lines of:
"Nominal shares valued at DKK xxx.xxx.xxx, with a (fair) market value of xxx.xxx.xxx"
But that totally leaves out the "kurs" part.
Thanks! :-) |

Nominal shares DKK xxx.xxx.xxx at a price of XXX = xxx.xxx.xxx

You may have to look the term up in the Regnskabsordbog, but it's free and reliable... well worth bookmarking.

In that case you could perhaps say
DKK xxx.xxx.xxx quoted at XXX = xxx.xxx.xxx
- which should work out. |

Asker: Hi Cristine -
The problem is that the math doesn't work here.
Lets say for example (changing the actual figures) that is says:
Nominelt aktier DKK 60.000.000 a kurs 150 = 90.000.000.
What it means is that the price is now 150% of what it was upon issuance of the nominal shares. The price itself is not 150. It may only involve ten shares that were valued at 10.000.000 to begin with and are now sold for 15.000.000.
Maybe I should just calculate the share price and write that instead of translating the "kurs"?
Thanks for the link to the regnskabsordbog by the way!
Cheers,
Michael
Asker: Great. Thanks. I actually went for "at a price of" instead of "quoted at", because the shares in question are not publicly traded. But that works.
However, I've run into another "kurs" problem that is not as easy to get around.
it simply says:
"Gældskonvertering, nominelt xxx.xxx.xxx til kurs 135"
without the actual calulation (1.35 x the original figure). There must be a way of formulating this, but I haven't been this stumped in awhile (been searching on google for a long time now).
