Danish to English translations [PRO] Social Sciences - Architecture | | Danish term or phrase: tjaeret | | The writer William Heinesen described his childhood school in Torshavn (Faroe Islands) as "en lav, tjaeret bygning i tre laenger..." I'm guessing this means "a low, tarred building with three wings," but the "tarred" part confuses me. What was tarred? The entire building? The roof? Or am I translating this totally wrong? |
