the preliminary dumping site layout soundings prior to mud / waste dumping and the post-dredging completion dumping site soundings would, in this case, be carried out onland with sounding pipes (pejlrør) as opposed to the skinnepejling which is done underwater with sonar depth soundings

Forpejling (engelsk: In-survey) er en opmåling, der foretages forud for oprensning af f.eks. et sejlløb. Tilsvarende er efterpejling (engelsk: Out-survey) en opmåling, der foretages efter oprensningen for at kontrollere/dokumentere oprensningens resultat. En skinnepejling (kender ikke en engelsk oversættelse) er en bestemt måde at foretage opmåling, hvor en skinne ophængt under en båd anvendes til at måle vanddybder.

just another guess. Looking back at your other 3 questions, I just wondered if this could be some weird expression for tamping or rolling, i.e. compacting the surface
Just a guess (overflade nivellering). It doesn't make much sense. They talk about a surface level that, after clean up, has to be "shinny clean" by some method.I think "pejling" in this case does mean sounding, but just surface sounding, i.e. not depth sounding, but just establishing that the surface topography is level within certain demands or requirements.
Is the Danish text a translation from some other language? I wonder sometimes where these strange and bizarre expressions come from. Or, if it's even written by a Dane.
Yes, beam sounding. Better not to specify too much, considering that the Danish term doesn't really tell you what is that beam, but I think that's because it's a translation, 'cos you usually indicate it. Anyway, beam sounding should be good enough.

Asker: Thanks for the references...however, this doesn't really help me. I realize that this word refers to soundings for dredging and deepening, but what kind of sounds? This question should be seen in connection with the other 2 questions I asked a few days earlier. I have been trying to discover (so far without success) the difference between forpejling, efterpejling and skinnepejling. They are all used in connection with soundings for dredging and deepening.

Ved Hasselø er der flere steder, hvor der kun er 1,3 meter vand i sejlrenden. Foreningen Smålandshavet skal forhandle med Kystdirektoratet om oprensning. I de seneste søkortrettelser fra Kort og Matrikelstyrelsen fra 3. juni står at læse, at vanddybden i Guldborgsunds sejlrende ved Hasselø er nede på 1,3 meter visse steder, primært på grund af sten og forandringer i bunden.
