Explanation:
it really does depend on the sentence. But when it comes to university course fees or university courses which are paid for, I would prefer to write tuition fees rather than paid course or anything like that.

disagree  SagaLinguistics: Vocational is often translated with erhvervsrettet, -faglig eller -mæssig, and does not concern the tuition at all. Besides, the same goes for frit studium, i.e. an individually structured study, which is not predetermined in course plans etc.

Another possibility, that comes very close to the meaning of the Danish term in question. In my own experience, it is very commonly used when discussing Canadian or U.S. post-secondary education.
