The term is commonly used, - a lot of hits on Google, sometimes with "contobeløb" as one word, - but I've so far found no English equivalent. From the contexts, it seems to signify some method of payment.

agree  Brian Young: installment payments would be closer. If you ask to pay for something "a conto" that is usually what is meant.

agree  WTSTranslations: It is one word. My "Dansk-Engelsk "Økonomisk Ordbog" has it as "on account", but installment payments is another option.
