Genealogy / doedsanmeldelse | | Danish term or phrase: foerstafdoede | Also from a registration of death form, in the section discussing the "surviving or previously deceased spouse" there's a box to be filled in that contains: Foerstafdoedes bopael ved doedsfaldet.
"Residence of the first deceased at time of death" seems cumbersome and I'm not sure it would make sense.

This appears to be the commonly used word for someone who dies first in a marriage, or inheritance case.
Also used as an adjective: eg. decedent spouse.
Example sentence(s):- "Affidavit of Domicile: Shows the residence of decedent at time of death. Affidavit of Domicile is required when transferring the ownership of a security from a deceased person's name"

Asker: Thanks William. I'd never seen this word before. I looked it up in a few general English dictionaries to doublecheck and all of them had it as a legal term but restricted it to a synonym for deceased. None of them noted the possibility that it meant "first deceased." None of the dictionaries were legal dictionaries though ...
