Danish term or phrase: oplæring vs. træning
The text is about employment but the immediate context appears to be a checklist for what needs to be attended to for each employee. One of the points is
"oplæring - træning" and I am struggling to find two English words. I suppose my question is: does "training" cover both? Very grateful for any help.

English translation:instruction and training
Explanation:
Instruction and training
I'm not a native speaker of Danish, but have agreed with a few clients and colleagues on a rough division of the Danish 'uddannelse' (with overlaps) into

Education - the general, sometimes culture-related, wider sense.

Training - specifically directed at a job or profession (You train for Medicine, Law, a trade, craft, whatever.)

Instruction - learning a particular practical task or routine, either in general or while being shown round a particular workplace and introduced to specific duties.

I consider 'instruction' is close to 'oplæring'.

schooling vs. training

Explanation:
I suppose you have already considered "education" for "oplæring"?

Example sentence(s):
  • Improved schooling and training has long been considered as a way of improving the work-force and strengthening the labour market.
  • In Germany Kieback&Peter offers comprehensive schooling and training on all aspects of digital control technology and building management systems (BMS).

training

Explanation:
The Danish word 'træning' used to apply to sports and other physical activities - but these days many English words slip into the Danish language and my experience is that this is one of them. In some contexts 'oplæring' may stress the instruction-related activity vs. 'træning' which is the student-related activity.
