Have fingeren i jorden / Stikke fingeren i jorden 11:48 Apr 11, 2011
With so little context, it is difficult to know what is meant here. The known Danish metaphor is 'stikke fingeren i jorden', which means 'to test the ground' or 'see how the land lies'. I am wondering whether you are having to deal with a 'perverted' metaphor, which is why it causes you trouble. What could the logical sense of 'have fingeren i jorden' possibly be? It is a silly idea at best. Of course, if you google this, you will find plenty of hits, but what does that prove? It's nonsense. :D)
Is it not possible that this a misguided mix of 'stikke fingeren i jorden' og 'have øret til jorden'? |
