The 'han/hun skal leve' is roughly the same as'long live ...' as in long live the queen! (Normally leve kongen/ dronnongen, but that is what is meant.)
Hurra(h) in Danish sounds very odd to English ears, as the Danish 'r' is a guttural and not rolled, but it can be drawn out to a sort of hooooo-aaaaah! It may be ended off with a short 'hoo' or 'the sound of the North Sea (Vesterhavet) as an extra long hurra.
The bravo-bravissimo is just a jingle in pseudo-Latin, and the 'han er en af vore egne - en rigtig gutermand/hængerøv etc. is sung to the tune of 'For he's a jolly good fellow - and so say all of us.' |
